The mission of the Dental Wellness Center is to teach its patients about the unique nature of their oral status through a co-learning process between doctor and patient that empowers them to make informed choices regarding its future. Health is not a commodity that can be dispensed – it is the result of a dual commitment between the doctor and patient based on transparency and trust developed along a diagnostic path of co-discovery, resulting in patient confidence through the knowledge acquired therein.

About Dr. McBride

Holistic Dentistry Expert for over 35 Years

Dr. Robert McBride, D.D.S., has been practicing dentistry in Long Beach, California for over 35 years and has achieved a level of expertise that few dentists in the U.S. can claim. He is a health-centered dentist who is dedicated to building trustful relationships with each patient. His holistic practice maintains personalized attention and individual diagnostic time that allow patients to understand their dental problems and become participants in their own health care.

Dr. McBride received his Bachelor of Science from UCLA and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of The University of The Pacific. He is a member of an elite group of dentists who have achieved Fellowship and Master status with the Academy of General Dentistry, which reflects his ongoing commitment to provide quality care through continuing education. He is one of just over 300 dentists worldwide who have been accredited in all four training levels in Orognathic Bioesthetics. While these recognitions illustrate Dr. McBride’s dedication to providing the best that dentistry has to offer, he also has achieved numerous other merits in the field of dentistry.

Karen Chitwood

I am proud to be Dr. McBride’s office manager and enjoy being part of such a caring environment. We have a great dental team that works well together making sure that every client experiences optimal care.

I graduated from the Cerritos College Dental program and have spent over 28 years serving dental patients. I recognize and appreciate quality dentistry, and am happy to be associated with such a fine dental practice.

I have been happily married for more than 28 years, and am the mother of one daughter and three sons. If you have spare time, ask me about my 3 grandchildren.

My hobbies include reading, quilting, crafting, and spending time with my grandkids. Other interests include volunteering in local schools, camping with family, and listening to jazz and big bands.

Timbrey Lind

Hello, my name is Timbrey and I am a Dental Hygienist.  I feel extremely fortunate to be working at Dr. McBride’s office and to be part of such an extraordinary team. His practice is filled with genuinely caring patients and a fun-loving staff.  I look forward to every day and what it has to offer both you and me. 

I am originally from Santa Barbara County, where I was a dental assistant for five years before I went to dental hygiene school.  I attended a dental hygiene program in Visalia, CA at a private college called San Joaquin Valley College.  The program took me sixteen months to complete, as opposed to regular dental hygiene programs that take twenty-four months.  It was tough but worth it.  I graduated from college in September, 2008 with an Associate in Science degree. 

On weekends, if I am not visiting my family in Santa Barbara, I am enjoying my new home in Huntington Beach.  I love outdoor activities including:  running on the beach, snowboarding, and playing softball.  I also enjoy reading. 

I love what I do and I look forward to growing professionally and personally in an office like Dr. McBride’s.  It is refreshing to work with people who truly care about their patients and I am excited to be a part of it.

Jean Zirkle

I am Dr. McBride’s bookkeeper, and besides keeping our creditors happy, I provide Dr. McBride with information that allows him to manage the business of the practice.

My husband Dave and I have two children, Kyle and Nicole. I enjoy reading and many family activities. I am very hands-on in the remodeling of our beautiful home. Would you believe knocking down walls and tiling bathrooms and kitchen tops?

Leanne Sabo

I am enjoying my new position as the Education and Marketing Director. My job is to introduce the Dental Wellness Center to the community. It is easy to  promote my father, Robert McBride, because I believe that he is the most talented, professional, and caring holistic dentist you will find anywhere. He is extremely dedicated to his clients and believes that education is the key to offering  total wellness. He has mastered dentistry and loves what he does. One of his favorite sayings is: “When your purpose becomes defined, your work becomes a recreational activity.”

I graduated from Cal State University of Long Beach with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. I have worked with Dr. McBride throughout the past 20 years and truly appreciate just how special this office is.

My husband Rudy and I have two sons, Sean and Derek. I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy running and the outdoors. I also devote time to my non-profit program called the WIG Foundation, a wine business that raises funds for wigs for women that have lost their hair due to chemotherapy.

What could be better than helping others while enjoying great wine, family and friends? Life is good!

Karen Gomez

Hi! My name is Karen Gomez, Dr. McBride's chairside assistant. In the office I am called "KC" (too many Karens - doctor's wife, our office manager and now me). I look forward to meeting all of our wonderful patients and assuring that their appointments go smoothly and comfortably.

I have been a dental assistant since I graduated from high school, only planning to work in this field for a year or two. To my surprise I discovered that I really enjoy assisting the doctor and helping people feel more comfortable during their dental treatment. I feel fortunate that I have found that here with Dr. McBride and his team. I am learning a lot from doctor and find his practice a refreshing change from standard dental offices. I am anxious to learn more!

I live in Fullerton with my husband and two teenage sons and our dog, Kobe. On my time off I enjoy gardening and being outdoors, and spending time with my family.
